Faith in Action: The 508(c)(1)(a) Setup
“Because your calling deserves protection, not permission.”
Service Description
Starting a ministry or faith-based organization shouldn’t feel like you’re signing a contract with Pharaoh. Yet, too many well-meaning leaders end up trapped in the 501(c)(3) system, gagged by speech restrictions, weighed down by government entanglement, and constantly worried about saying the “wrong thing.” At Building Better Minds, we believe faith should be free, not filtered. That’s where the 508(c)(1)(a) comes in: a faith-based organizational structure that recognizes your sovereignty, protects your mission, and keeps your ministry aligned with both Scripture and constitutional rights. What You Get with Your 508(c)(1)(a) Setup We take care of the lawful backbone so you can focus on the spiritual blueprint. Here’s what’s included in your full formation package: ✅ Articles of Organization – The official document that establishes your ministry’s lawful foundation. ✅ Certificate of Incorporation – Proof that your organization exists as a recognized body. ✅ UBI Number – Your unique business identifier (think of it as your ministry’s ID card). ✅ SS4 & Tax ID (EIN) – Secures your tax-exempt identification with the IRS. ✅ Certificate of Existence/Authorization – Verifies your standing and authorization to operate. ✅ Charities Registration Exemption Letter – Signed by the Secretary of State recognizing your tax-exempt faith-based status. ✅ First-Year Registered Agent Services – We’ll handle the mail and legal paperwork so you can focus on ministry, not mailboxes. ✅ Bylaws Template – The roadmap for internal order and spiritual alignment. ✅ Sample First Minutes of Board Meeting – Because every great vision starts with structure and direction. ✅ Letter Explaining Tax Exemption – A simple guide to understanding your 508(c)(1)(a) tax rights. ✅ Letter on How to Open a Bank Account in Your State – Step-by-step instructions for establishing your financial foundation. Need international credentials? We can also acquire an Apostille (a special certification recognized under the Hague Convention) for ministries doing work abroad. Additional fees apply.
